Steps were taken to construct a school at Walahandhuwa Village in Anulahdevi Balika Vidyalaya, Galle to be relocated to a safer place after the 2004 tsunami disaster. But in the circumstances it was of a somewhat problematic nature. As a result, with the approval of the education authorities, it was started as a new school.
The physical resources required for the primary school and office of the new school built in Walahandhuwa village were provided by "Project Sri Lanka" Project on 30th and 31st December 2006. Officially handed over to the school .Already 27 first staff with the Principal reported for duty on 29th December .At the same time the children's desks, chairs, teacher's tables and chairs required for the primary school were provided under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Southern Province, Shan Wijayalal de Silva .
With the assistance of these physical resources and staff, the task of converting the building into a complex school was entrusted to the Principal. Coordinating all activities with the Staff Officers including the Provincial Director of Education, the Zonal Director of Education and the Director of Divisional Education.

First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa officially inaugurated the school on January 4, 2007 on behalf of His Excellency the President and was graced by Hon. Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha and many distinguished guests. The festivities were held under the most solemn and special security arrangements during the terrible war that prevailed across the country at that time.
However, it is a great privilege for the school to have such a proud start. From here, the challenge of building an exemplary college for the Southern Province was handed over to the first principal, Mrs. H.A.S.Gunathilaka and the staff.
Many of the technological tools that many other schools did not have were initially provided to the school by the Project Sri Lanka Project. Etc. In the meantime, it is difficult to describe the strength they have given to maintaining a high standard of school paperwork, communication and communication activities.
Less than two months after the start of school, the case on the access road, the dense jungle beyond the school's completion boundary, the construction of secondary section buildings on the other side, the severe erosion of the school premises, and the isolation of many threats. Gradually it grew .But it should be noted that in all these challenges the strong commitment of the school community was overcome through effort and self - confidence.
